Half Rotten Hardwoods
Spalted myrtle

This wood has a fun story. Myrtle does not stabilize at all. (Stabilizing is impregnating the wood with resin to limit wood movement due to moisture). I ran an experiment where I took the typical stabilizing process which normally wakes roughly 2 weeks and ran it for over 4 months. The wood still didn't take any resin.... so I left it soaking in the stabilizing resin for over a year lol! They myrtle wood is capped with african blackwood and an oil finish.
This wood is part of that experiment, so if myrtle is ever going to be stabilized this is it!
This handle does not have a knot set so you will need to add a 26mm or 28mm to your cart and I'll set it for you. (The photo has a 26mm synthetic knot sitting in it.)
